This unique MSc program is designed for students to gain a deep and diverse understanding and capability in fields related to the environment and natural resources, while also developing their mental flexibility, enabling them to employ methods, terms, and concepts from different areas of research and move between such areas. 

You'll be trained in classical physics areas that are relevant to environmental studies (nonlinear dynamics, continuum mechanics, fluid flow and heat and material transfer, light-matter interaction, semiconductor physics), applied mathematics (asymptotic methods, statistical methods, numerical methods), and other physical sciences-related fields (surface chemistry, optoelectronic properties of materials, optics).

The M.Sc. program offers a thesis (research) track.

​​M.Sc. Requirements:

» A B.Sc. degree in either science or engineering from an accredited institution.

» A TOEFL score of at least 85/120 or the equivalent score in an internationally recognized English proficiency exam is required. The English proficiency requirement is waived for applicants who received their B.Sc. degree in a program taught in English.

» Applicants are expected to connect via e-mail with one or more potential advisors with whom they would like to work on their thesis. Please visit the department website for a list of faculty.

Excellence scholarships for outstanding candidates for MSc Studies in Solar Energy and Environmental Physics​​

Two awards are allotted to excellent candidates enrolled in the 2022-2023 school year:

YDSEEP scholarship: NIS ~4200/ month (12 fellowship portions), in addition to full tuition.
SIDEER scholarship: NIS ~7000/ month (20 fellowship portions), in addition to full tuition.

The scholarship will be granted for 24 months without extensions. 
Free dorm housing in the Sde Boker campus is offered to MSc students, based on availability, in addition to the scholarship.
