The Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev recently launched its "research hubs" program, aimed at providing a platform for synergy and facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations between researchers and clinicians in the Faculty's various units. The hubs program, an outcome of a comprehensive Faculty-wide strategic planning process, aims at developing research excellence with an emphasis on targeted and applied research that spans disciplines and transcends the interests of individual scientists.
A total of 9 proposed hubs, each with at least eight members from different units within the Faculty, were selected to receive initial funding and infrastructure support for the first year of the program. Each hub will be reevaluated at the end of the year, to determine whether that support will be continued. We envision the Hubs as centers of research excellence, where leadership and cutting-edge work will thrive.
