The Department of Health Policy and Management, established in 1994, is the largest of its kind in Israel, in terms of faculty members, students, research activities, and involvement in the healthcare fields. We are a dynamic department, continuously advancing and adapting to the changing environment, developing new teaching programs, and launching new research initiatives. We have ten senior faculty members, divided between those appointed at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FOHS) and those appointed at the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management (GGFBM).
The mission of the Department is to improve the managerial, organizational and policy-making competencies of Israel’s healthcare system, by training students for research, as well as for multilevel positions in health policy planning and management.
The strength and the uniqueness of the Department derive from the wide diversity in our faculty members' backgrounds, specializations and research topics – combining knowledge and experience, both theoretical and applied, from management, policy, health sciences, social sciences and humanities. Moreover, thanks to its placement in two different faculties – the FOHS and the GGFBM – the Department is home to a unique inter-disciplinary environment and collaborative ethos that supports innovative research and teaching.
