The multidisciplinary Center for Emerging Diseases, Tropical Diseases and AIDS was established in 2006 within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, with the aim to enhance existing scientific collaborations, facilitate new collaborations both inside and outside of Israel, and to bring to the University new sources of support for this rapidly evolving field with special emphasis on Neglected Tropical Diseases ( NTD). CEMTA aims to develop plans for education and health promotion with neighboring countries as well as in developing countries around the world.

SHARE the vision of "Tikkun-olam" as a cornerstone of the spirit of the Center helping the sick, the underprivileged and the poor in our region and elsewhere in the world.
PROMOTE research, field work, and professional training, in all developing countries
INCREASE the bonds between Israel and the Jewish Diaspora as a beacon of enlightenment in a dark world.
RAISE the hope for a better world with less diseases and with a promising future.
ENCOURAGE new efforts to attain these goals by joining with all parts of society than can share and contribute to these objectives.
