2024 Position Opening Call for Candidates:
Alon & Maof Scholarships

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Ben Gurion University of the Negev invites applicants holding a Ph.D. degree in Sociology or Anthropology for a position at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, by means of competitive fellowships. Candidates are expected to have strong research abilities as demonstrated by their publications to qualify for Vatat fellowships (Alon and Maof). Postdoctoral experience is advantageous. Candidates must be able to teach in Hebrew. The appointment is pending on winning the Alon/Maof fellowship and on institutional approval.

We are seeking an anthropologist or a sociologist with a proven record of relevant research. All specializations will be considered. Candidates are expected to have strong research abilities as demonstrated by their publication record and research program, and to be excellent teachers, able to teach core and methodological courses in anthropology and/or sociology, as indicated by their teaching evaluations and references.
