Department of Physiotherapy
Faculty of Health Sciences

My life before BGU:
I grew up in Givatayim, Israel, where participating in competitive sports at a young age inspired my fascination with movement and physical therapy. I earned both my BA and MA in Physical Therapy from Tel Aviv University and have worked as a physical therapist at the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Medical Center in Ra'anana, Israel.
I completed my PhD at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), focusing on reactive balance control after stroke. Then I had a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan, followed by additional postdoctoral work at BGU.
My research:
My research is dedicated to advancing the assessment and treatment of gait and balance impairments caused by neurological injuries, with a primary focus on stroke. In my lab, we integrate principles from neuroscience and motor learning to develop innovative intervention strategies and technologies that aim to improve mobility, enhance quality of life, and promote participation in meaningful daily activities.
Why BGU?
The people here and the environment are what brought me to Ben-Gurion University. I really got to know the University during my doctoral studies. I had a fantastic supervisor and enjoyed the outstanding faculty members in the Department of Physical Therapy. I love my students, and especially the innovative research and teaching at the Department.
An insight from my research:
To help individuals recover and return to functional independence, there must be an integration of basic research and the clinical knowledge gained by physical therapists in the field. Both components are essential for successful rehabilitation.

Something that doesn't appear on my CV:
I have a partner, three children, and a dog.
