After two years of successful activity on the Sde Boker Campus, the University internet radio is expanding its activities by establishing an additional studio on the Marcus Family Campus in Beer-Sheva with the support of BGU President Prof. Danny Chamovitz. BGU Radio broadcasts as a podcast network produced by students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community.
In a pioneering project, BGU Radio has produced the first Student Orientation podcasts in Israel, to guide new students through administrative procedures and to learn about the amazing campus life both in Beer-Sheva and in Sde Boker. On the Marcus Family Campus, Mr. Buzi Raviv (Director, BGU Radio) interviewed Ms. Shir Tzadok, Ms. Shir Cohen and Mr. Nitai Bar from the Student Union Offices of Academic Support, Welfare and Culture, respectively. In the Sde Boker Campus studio, Ms. Jansi Srinivasan, an M.Sc student from India, interviewed Ms. Eliana Ben Sheleg and Ms. Sarit Koma, the Student Affairs Coordinators from the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research and the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, respectively, as well as members of the Sde Boker Campus Student Council Welcome Committee. The podcasts covered subjects including: course registration, student accommodation, administrative procedures for international students (Sde Boker Campus), activities for students throughout the year, and many other topics to help students easily settle into campus life.
