The Demo Day event which recently took place marks the completion of the second cycle of Inno-Negev, BGU’s technology accelerator. The accelerator was established and is led by the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and BGN Technologies, the University's technology transfer company, and operates in the BGU Innovation lab located in the Gav Yam high-tech park adjacent to the University.

The Demo Day event was attended by some 130 guests, including representatives of partner agencies in the accelerator, mentors, representatives of global companies, investors, entrepreneurs, leading academics and other guests.

The nine teams who took part in Inno-Negev’s current cycle consisted of students, graduates, researchers and faculty from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

The teams received substantial assistance over the four months: hundreds of hours of individual counseling from senior mentors from industry, service packages in the field of law and litigation, $5,000 per team of cloud computing services, UI/UX consultations and dozens of professional lectures in various fields.

Among the projects that participated in the second cycle were: Kidcode founded by BGU students and offering a platform for independent learning of computer programming for young children; SISmed which developed a medical bot that enables real-time visualization, diagnosis and treatment inside the gastrointestinal tract without sedation or invasive endoscopic procedures; and DROBEit offering a social platform for sharing and exchanging second-hand clothes.
