Prof. Limor Aharonson-Daniel, Vice President for Global Engagement hosted a senior academic delegation from Thailand on Sunday, February 19th.
The delegation, accompanied by Thai Ambassador to Israel H.E. Pannabha Chandraramya, included Professor Sirirurg Songsivilai, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in Thailand, as well as the Thai President of Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), Chairman of the National Commission on Science, Research and Innovation Promotion (CSRP), President of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA),
Director of the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) (ARDA), University presidents, and deans. A tour and overview of the university were followed by presentations by Prof. Yaron Ziv, Prof. Naftaly Lazarovich, and Prof. Miki Malul.
“It was a brief but productive meeting" summarized VP Aharonson-Daniel, “It is clear that the potential for academic collaboration is there, I am sure that we will soon see students from the kingdom of Thailand in our Sde Boker campus, and in the long run, I foresee bi-national grants that will support collaborations in research".
