The final event of “The Challenge" AI competition in collaboration with Intel Israel has just ended and we're so excited to announce the four winning who won tens of thousands of shekels! The first place went to We Hear You, a revolutionary system that uses machine learning to translate sign language movements into voice or script created by a group of BGU students - Adam Bismut and Netanel Eliav GGFBM MBA students and Rami Kandhorov from the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, won first prize in mid-June at the 2019 AI is Everywhere Challenge.

o Anti-Cyber Bullying, which aims to stop cyberbullying by using AI to analyze social networks and instant-messaging platforms.
Two teams shared the prize for third place: Q-DOC, an AI receptionist designed to provide medical advice based on a patients health history and on millions of similar cases, and What to Eat, which makes menu recommendations for your next meal based on your preferences, location, health and available ingredients. Penn State University sophomore Divya Rustagi, an international student from New Delhi, India, reacted, "Winning third place felt great, but having one f the Intel senior execs say 'I like it!' was the real win for our team." more here
Hundreds of students from universities in Israel and abroad took part in this, the third cycle of The Challenge. More than 100 teams applied, some of whom came from one of 12 academic courses that include “The Challenge" as part of their curriculum.
Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management Dean Prof. Miki Malul congratulated the competitors, saying collaboration between advanced artificial intelligence and up-and-coming business leaders has the potential to create unique solutions to pressing social issues.
"I am so impressed with the creativity of our students and their ability to collaborate across academic disciplines. On both the business and technical sides, they are committed to using their knowledge and skills for the betterment of our society and have internalized the need to work together in order to accomplish that goal. Congratulations to all the teams for their impressive accomplishments," Prof. Malul said.
