My life before BGU:
I studied at BGU for my bachelor's and master's degrees (Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research at Sede Boqer), so now this is simply coming home. I began my academic path in the humanities (history and philosophy) and moved to social sciences (city planning and environmental policy).
I studied for my PhD at the University of Leeds in the north of England at the School of Geography and the Sustainability Research Institute. On completion of my PhD, I thought I was finished with academia and I worked for two years in the public sector. I understood very quickly that there was nothing for me "outside" and I began a post-doc at the Technion.

My research:
What interests me is the process of institutional change and its causes in the policy, environmental and spatial field: how and why institutions change (or not), and what prevents the change. I am especially interested in "big systems": entire sectors (water, energy, agriculture), infrastructures, cities and countries, and in recent years I have enjoyed international comparisons and working with international research teams.

Why BGU?
It's the yellow which makes the eyes and the heart feel good, and the opportunities in this southern spaciousness.
An insight from my research:
There are no perfect socio-technological systems, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't judge them according to values of morality and justice.
