Congrats to Ms. Meitar Ronen, a BGU CS M.Sc. student co-supervised by Dr. Oren Freifeld from BGU CS and Dr. Limor Freifeld from Technion Biomedical Engineering, for winning a national-level VATAT scholarship! This scholarship, for advancing women in academia, is awarded by Israel's Council for Higher Education to excellent M.Sc. students in Hi-Tech fields. Meitar works in the fields of computer vision, machine learning and computational neuroscience. She has co-authored papers in ICCV 2019 and EDM 2019, and is now focusing on developing new unsupervised-learning tools, based on Bayesian non-parametric methods, to analyze whole-brain neural imaging data, as well as on applications of deep learning in computer vision.
