Thousands participated in the hugely successful Innovation 2014 event, including Israel’s business elite.

Organized by the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship and Hi-Tech Management of the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management GGFBM and together with the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, the event included 550 student projects, 20 company exhibits, over 240 speakers at 70 lectures and 40 panels, and a full range of informal meetings.

The theme of this year’s event was “Local Innovation Meets Global Forces”.  
“This annual event gives a rare opportunity for participants to be exposed to the strategy of the large and global companies, and to new ideas, Israeli companies, entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors, students and researchers,” says Prof. Dafna Schwartz, director of the Bengis Center.  “It gives the participants an opportunity to share ideas, innovations and business experience, and aims to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in general and in the Negev in particular,” she adds. 
 
Among the companies participating in the event were: IBM, HP, Oracle, Intel, EMC, Microsoft, Strauss Group, Teva, Bank Hapoalim and others.  
Among the Presenters/Participants: Ofra Strauss, Chairperson of Strauss Group; Yair Seroussi, Chairman of Bank Hapoalim; Rick Kaplan, CEO of IBM Israel; David Lander, CEO of HP Israel; Dr. Orna Berry, Corporate Vice President and the General Manager of the EMC Centers of Excellence in Israel; Amir Hayek, Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Israel and business pundit at “Layla Calcali”, MK and founder of Jerusalem Venture Partners JVP, Erel Margalit, Izhar Shay, General Partner, Canaan Partners Israel and others.
