Prof. Yuval Shahar receives Award for Pioneering Medical Informatics

Prof. Yuval Shahar was recognized recently at the 21st annual conference of the Israel Chamber of Information Systems Analysts. The citation noted his groundbreaking role, despite widespread skepticism, in bringing computer science and information system analytics to the medical world. From its humble beginnings to its dominant place in the medical world today, Shahar has led the way, according to the award.

Shahar, a member of the Department of Information Systems Engineering, is the founder and head of the Medical Informatics Research Center at BGU.
