Prof. Ronen Brafman from the Department of Computer Science has been elected a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).

Founded in 1979, the AAAI is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. AAAI aims to promote research in, and responsible use of, artificial intelligence. Its Fellows program was started in 1990 to recognize individuals who have made significant, sustained contributions  to the field.

Prof. Brafman is the fourth Israeli researcher to attain this honor. He receives this recognition f
or significant contributions to algorithms, representation, and theoretical foundations of automated decision making in the areas of preference handling, planning under uncertainty, multi-agent planning, and privacy.
