Highlights from the student’s rights law, 2007

4.a.   An Institution will not discriminate candidates or students because of their or their 
         parents origins, their socio-economic background or for reasons of religion, 
         nationality, gender or location of residence in each of the following: 

1.     Registering to the institution
2.     Acceptance to fields of study.
3.     Acceptance to specific programs.
5.     Every student has the right to freely express his or hers opinions and point of views about
        the material studied and the  values they represent. This does not limit the rights of the
        institution to organize the way these opinions are expressed in order to maintain a proper
        learning environment.
15.a. An institute will publish the dates for each final exam close to the date of registration for
         thecourses. Any change in the exam date will be brought to the attention of the students.
15.c.  An institute will allow a student to read any exam notebook or final paper he or she
         submitted, after they have been checked and their grades published. The student is
         entitled to and their grades published. The student is entitled to get a copy of his
         notebook or paperfor the price of the copying procedure. 
15.d.  A student is entitled to appeal against a grade of an exam or paper, as long as he
         or she read the exam/paper after it was graded and before submitting the appeal.
22.    Any candidate and any student in an institute can file a complaint to the Ombudsman
         or any other person or office in the institute that is authorized to handle the complaints.
