Conference on: "Social Change and Gendered Activism in Peripheral Societies in Israel”
This first-of-its-kind researchers' workshop will be dedicated to an interdisciplinary discussion about research into women's activism and manner of coping in peripheral societies. This field of research has aroused great interest in the international academic discourse in a variety of disciplines: sociology and anthropology, history, study of religions, political science and law. This conference will put the local context (in Israel) at the forefront of the global academic discourse.
- Scholars' Workshop to be held February 25-26, 2018. The conference will include lectures by members of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, and several other leading research institutions in Israel.
