Identifying the key links between animal behavior and conservation, and bridging the gap between these two disciplines.

Dr. Oded Berger-Tal and Prof. David Saltz are leaders in the field of Conservation Behavior -  an interdisciplinary field exploring the ways animal behavior research can contribute to biodiversity conservation. Berger-Tal and Saltz have developed an in-depth logical conservation behavior framework identifying the key links between animal behavior and conservation, and bridging the gap between these two disciplines. The framework has been first published in 2011 in the journal "Behavioral Ecology" and has since become a central aspect of conservation behavior research world-wide. In 2016, Berger-Tal and Saltz expanded their original framework into a book titled "Conservation behavior: applying behavioral ecology to conservation and management", published by Cambridge University Press.
