2000            Genius Biotech Award - International Business Plan Competition of Start-up Companies, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. Transgenic cyanobacteria expressing combinations of genes for -endotoxin as pesticide-free alternatives for biological control of mosquitoes (with Ben-Dov, E. and Zaritsky A.).

2002            The Miles and Lillian Cahn Chair of Economic Botany in Arid Zones.

2003            Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of West Hungary.
