Marc (Marcian) Lubner is currently the CEO of the Afrika Tikkun group, a leading South African non-profit organization. The group is involved in the lives of over twenty thousand children annually, supporting their development from early infancy through to help in launching careers. The group has both a non-profit development entity and a private equity investment holding company and business unit. All net revenue funds the organization's non-profit activities. He is also the founder (together with Nelson Mandela) and Chairman of the Smile Foundation, which cares for children with facial deformities.
Previously, Marc was a shareholder and strategy consultant at Bluepeter Management; CEO of Umbono Corporation, a financial services with core activities in private equity investments; and Managing Director of Consumer Electronics, which imported, marketed, and distributed entertainment software. Earlier in his career, Mark held senior positions as managing director and consultant at various companies involved in manufacturing, finance, food services, and more. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University, USA.
Marc also serves as the Chairman of the Lubner Family Foundation. His father, Bertie Lubner, Z"l, was a staunch supporter of BGU since its very inception, serving on its Board of Governors and contributing generously to its scholarship funds and more. Marc has taken up the mantle, continuing the family's support for the annual Lubner Community Service Prize.
Marc grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and attended Witwatersrand University for an undergraduate degree in commerce. He is an active sportsman and wildlife enthusiast. His main interest is being a family man.
