Lionel Halpérin is a lawyer born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland. 

He has studied law in Geneva and at New York University and is a member of both the Geneva Bar and the New York Bar associations. He is a partner at the law firm Ming Halpérin Burger Inaudi in Geneva and served as Chairman of the Geneva Bar Association for two years, beginning in March 2018.

Lionel has served as a member of the Geneva State Parliament (2013-2018), representing the Parti Libéral Radical (center right). He was also a member of the Constitutional Assembly of the Canton of Geneva between 2008 and 2012. This Assembly drafted the new Constitution of the State of Geneva. 

​Lionel is involved in several professional and non-professional associations. Following in the footsteps of his late father, Michel Halpérin, and grandfather, Vladimir Halpérin, he became Chairman of the Swiss Friends of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2014.​
