Sustainability science is an interdisciplinary science which explores the interaction between humanity and nature. Sustainability science uses methodologies from both the social and natural sciences to identify the problems and to try to find solutions to ensure sustainable management of natural resources, protection of biodiversity, genetic diversity and the protection of humans from the harmful effects of their own activities. The School offers 5 study units in sustainability studies which vary in their thematic and theoretical emphasis on the social or natural sciences:​​​
