Adi Vital Kaplun z"l was an exceptional student, and in her honor, we have chosen to name our Best Poster Awards after her.

Adi earned her M.Sc. in Environmental Physics and Solar Energy from the Albert Katz International School at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Sede Boqer campus, graduating with outstanding honors. Her focus was developing hybrid nanomaterials for examining alternative energy sources. Muhammad Bashouti, Adi's academic mentor, characterized her work as profoundly impactful for humanity. She was a remarkable scientist, recognized for her exceptional research and academic achievements. We were devastated to learn of her tragic murder in her home in Kibbutz Holit on October 7, 2023.

The Best Poster Awards are presented as part of the Sede Boqer Symposia for Solar Electricity Production, organized by the Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research. These awards recognize the research of young scientists based on the significance of their research topics to the field of renewable and solar energy, the scientific excellence of their work, and the quality of their presentations.

We hope this award serves as a lasting tribute to Adi's memory.
