All faculty members consider research to be a major part of their profession, and strive to be at the forefront of research in their field. In parallel, they promote young scholars in conducting their own related research. The Department fosters new research areas that meet the demands of advances in the discipline. Department members and graduate students are encouraged to take part in international conferences, and world-renowned scholars lecture at departmental seminars and symposia.
 
The Department emphasizes both an interdisciplinary approach and current theoretical methods. Members frequently publish books and essays in leading publishing houses and peer-reviewed journals.
