Several positions for research students at the Graduate level (i.e., Ph.D. and MSc are available in the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research, located in Sede Boqer campus, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, starting October 2020.

Work in our lab is focused on developing advanced water treatment electrochemical processes, especially based on membranes, for tackling a variety of environmental challenges.

Applicants interested in water chemistry, desalination, water reuse, domestic and industrial wastewater treatment, PFAS fate and transport and recovery of nutrients and other valuable constituents from waste streams and novel membrane systems such as electrochemical and solar Membrane Distillation (MD) and Forward Osmosis (FO) are encouraged to email their application in one pdf file that contains a CV, a brief statement of research interests and career goals (1-2 pages), and the names/contact information of 3 references to Dr. Avner Ronen (avnerr@bgu.ac.il)

Review of applications will start immediately until the position is filled, and priority will be given to applications submitted before March 1st, 2021.

Additional data on the research can be found at http://dreams-lab.weebly.com/

Desired qualifications include:

1. A bachelor's or master's degree in relevant science and engineering fields. i.e., environmental engineering/science, chemical engineering, civil engineering, or other related fields.

2. Previous experience in wastewater quality analysis, membrane systems. Experience in modeling flow and mass transport is a plus.

3. Good communication skills, team spirit, motivation, and experience in publishing peer-reviewed papers.

Applicants must also meet admission requirements of the Kreitman School of Advanced Studies (for Ph.D.) or the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies (for MSc). For consideration, Ph.D. candidates will need to submit complete applications through the Kreitman School website (http://in.bgu.ac.il/en/kreitman_school/Pages/admission.aspx), while MSc candidates need to apply through the Albert Katz International School website (http://in.bgu.ac.il/en/akis/Pages/Admission.aspx).

In addition, a competitive stipend, full tuition waiver, and subsidized housing at Sede Boqer Campus, scenically located in the heart of the Negev desert, will be provided.
