The School of Public Health in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben Gurion University of the Negev strives to be a leader in its field, both in Israel and around the world. The School trains the next generation of researchers, clinicians, policy designers and policy makers in the fields of public health and healthcare management, while placing an emphasis on unique challenges at community, regional, national and international levels, during periods of normalcy and crisis. The School operates out of a commitment to multidisciplinary learning, collaboration, international vision, cutting edge research and innovative teaching, with a social and humanitarian focus.
Implementation of that vision is based upon three foundational elements:
- Excellence in research – An increase in quality and quantity of published work, initiating collaborations in multidisciplinary research, developing a culture of winning competitive research grants and focusing on defined fields of research, while leveraging the school's relative advantages.
- Excellence in teaching – A focus on connecting with students and developing unique multidisciplinary degree tracks alongside international teaching programs.
- Leadership and influence – Contributing on a national and international level to advancing public health, influencing behavioral, social, environmental, organizational, policy and economic factors related to public health, while strengthening collaborations with key figures and factors that influence decision making in the healthcare system.
