The week-long program will also include several workshop meetings during which guided discussion will be held on the topics studied in the classroom and later in the tours. The workshops will be led by professional instructors from the Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a framework in which participants can exchange ideas and raise questions following their encounters with new topics. In addition, the workshops provide a forum in which participants can share their impressions and process the experiences they are undergoing through the program.
Integration into Campus Life on the Sede Boqer Campus of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Getting to Know the International and Local Israeli Student Community
Nearly two hundred students, half of them international students, study at the Sede Boqer Campus. About thirty students of Israel studies, half of whom are international students, are currently attending the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism. It is in this environment that social events will be held and interaction between program participants and students who live on campus will take place. Students from the International Program in Israel Studies will be invited to join the tours on a space-available basis with the aim of encouraging dialogue between participants and students with expertise and knowledge in the field.
