The BGU Recombinant DNA Committee operates according to NIH guidelines and instructions as directed by NCTP. Researchers wishing to import, experiment on/or work with genetically modified plants and/or microorganisms must receive authorization from the Recombinant DNA Committee. This requirement comes into effect at the research proposal submission stage. Submission of requests to the Committee is according to the following scheme:

Conflicts of interest in research may occur when outside financial interests compromise, have the potential to compromise, or have the appearance of compromising, the professional judgment of a researcher when designing, conducting, or reporting research results.
There have been recent changes in the U.S. Code relating to financial conflicts of interest (FCoI) in the conduct of Federally funded research and one aspect of being in compliance requires that researchers take an FCoI course at least once every 4 years.
CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) is a consortium of US universities who have created training modules on many issues that fall under the general heading of Responsible Conduct of Research. One of those modules focuses on FCoI and that is the course BGU researchers will be required to take.
Taking the course begins with registration here: http://www.citiprogram.org
