The X-ray laboratory is part of the chemistry department at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. It houses advanced X-ray instrumentation for the determination of crystal structures currently available - the XtaLAB Synergy-S X-ray diffractometer.
The aim of the X-ray lab is to provide a solution for researchers in determining structures, atomicity, bonding patterns (both intramolecular and intermolecular), absolute configuration determination of molecules, lattice packing and much more, for all kinds of organic, inorganic compounds and proteins.
The staff at the X-ray lab is highly trained and has a combined experience of more than 20 years in solving crystal structures of various kinds, both small molecules and proteins. The staff can also help researchers by writing the crystallographic sections required for publication.
We also offer high resolution powder X-ray diffraction services (up to angles of 140 2θ), which allows the phase identification of polycrystalline samples utilizing the Crystallographic Open Database (COD) containing close to 400000 different diffraction patterns for easy identification.
