Sharing is Caring: Multidisciplinary Highlights of Threat Intelligence Exchange

Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) sharing is a collaborative effort to fight the cyber war by leveraging the capabilities, knowledge, and experience of the broader community. Sharing between vendors or within a deployed technological solution, reduces duplication of effort while enabling one point of detection to transform into many points of prevention. Regardless of the multifaceted challenge it presents to all involved parties, the number of real-world sharing deployments across different sectors and solutions continuously grows. This presentation will offer a unified academic and market perspective of the topic, focusing on coopetition-based relationships between cybersecurity vendors. My academic related empirical research aims to improve the understanding of those relationships by deriving insights from the network structure formed between the vendors and characterizing the established relationships and common properties of sharing firms. The suggested session will cover related definitions, highlight the multidisciplinary aspects of the CTI sharing trend, list the related exchange structures and standards, describe my research results, and share market perspectives and insights based on real-world implementations.
