On Sunday, June 27, 2021, we dedicated the Amos Oz Writers' House in the Old City of Beer-Sheva.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Toni Young, the donor; Prof. Daniel Haimovich, president of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev; Mr. Ruvik Danilovich, mayor of Beer-Sheva; Prof. Yigal Schwartz, initiator of the Writers' House project and director of the Heksherim Research Institute for Jewish and Israeli Literature and Culture; Prof. Avishay Braverman and Prof. Rivka Carmi, former presidents of Ben-Gurion University; Nili, widow of the late Amos Oz, and Prof. Fania Oz-Salzberger, his daughter; as well as Haim Be'er, Ronny Someck, Shimon Adaf, and other intellectuals and literary figures. The event ended with a musical performance by Assaf Meir.
