"Organizational vision and learning" Seminar
The concept of vision has become very prominent in the leadership field. It is based on the belief that in order to lead a company well, a project in the public sector and especially a non-profit activity, it is important to have a clear understanding of what you want to achieve, where you want to go - the "Vision and Organizational Learning" seminar is intended for those who want to lead, lead and act on, In order to bring about social change through third sector organizations.
The seminar program connects theory and practice, thereby seeking to enrich the theoretical knowledge and strategies for dealing with key issues that are on the agenda of leaders of organizations in the public and social sphere, among them: creation and consolidation of a personal-organizational vision, organizational values and organizational culture, and organizational learning. Accordingly, the seminar sessions will be divided into three axes that will violate each other:
In the first semester, the students will be exposed to the theories and researches that are the basis of the issues of vision and organizational learning.
The second axis will be conducted in a dialogic format through the learning of case studies that will be presented by leaders - the practitioners. The case studies will be presented appropriately and in accordance with what will be learned in the first axis, thus allowing for depth observation of a wide range of leadership actions. Also, the case studies will enable examination of a wide range of ways of dealing with different managerial issues, in organizations with diverse characteristics, which influence different fields within the social sector.
In the third axis, the learning process invites the participants to a reflective examination of their personal development, those who seek to bring about change through organizations operating in the third sector.
In addition, the seminar is based on the belief that there is much to learn from social actors who develop important projects. Therefore, in this course, emphasis is placed on meetings and work sessions on campus and outside with important leaders who influence Israeli society.
The purpose of the seminar is to give the students the necessary knowledge about the theory of vision and organizational learning, for the leadership training of the course participants and to impart skills and tools for developing action for social advancement through a non-profit organization.
