Collaborative Innovation for Safe Hydrogen Storage and Transportation Solutions
Last weekend in BGU Campus, brilliant young minds were brought together and competed in a 25-hour hackathon aiming to uncover safe hydrogen storage and transportation solutions: Nine teams of students from diverse institutions and disciplines from across the country, showcased the immense potential of interdisciplinary teamwork in scientific innovation. Students from engineering, chemistry, materials science and more, collaborated intensively, pooling their knowledge and expertise to tackle the challenge.
Through their tireless efforts, by blending their respective skills, all the participating teams demonstrated remarkable scientific qualities and critical thinking.
Congratulations to the winning teams:
#1 prize winner team: Omer ashuach, Tel_Aviv University; Hilah Clara Honig, Bar-Ilan University; Lina Borsky, Yonathan Yol, TAU; Gilad Sasson, Technion. The team won 10,000 NIS for proposing the idea of inner coating recycled tubes for hydrogen storage.
#2 prize winner team came all the way from the Hebrew University and proposed hydrogen storage and transportation in containers coated by salt bricks.
#3 prize winner was a BGU students' team which proposed hydrogen accumulating by physical absorption on graphene.
This groundbreaking event would not have been possible without the support and guidance of the mentors both from the industry and academia, the evaluation committee members, and the organizers.
