The students Avrahami Israeli and Alex Kremiansky, under the supervision of Dr. Oren Tsur combine state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms with social network analysis to predict collective behavior of millions of users and thousands of communities in a surprising external shock. The paper This Must Be the Place: Predicting Engagement of Online Communities in a Large-scale Distributed Campaign will be presented in The Web Conference (formerly WWW) at the end of the month.
