The Ilza Katz Institute was established in 2006 and unites under one roof, a community of scientists working together on various aspects related to the understanding of matter in its nanometer dimensions. Advanced research in nanotechnology is carried out at the institute in various fields such as: energy conversion and storage, biophysics, quantum science, thin layers, synthesis of nanometer materials and their characterization.

In order to make all of this possible, the research laboratories at the institute serve researchers as a support center for innovation and excel in research through the provision of the most advanced and innovative technologies and infrastructures for the production and characterization of nanometer materials for the benefit of the entire research community in the Negev. The equipment is operated by professional and outstanding operators, each in his field
