Drought Planning

Hundreds of millions of people have starved to death in past catastrophic droughts. Researchers at the Social Studies Unit of the BIDR Department of Man in the Desert are examining likely worldwide food disrupt​ions in case of a future major drought. They are mapping out contingency approaches for securing food supplies, and in particular the strengthening of national grain reserves.​​​
