I specialize in political and comparative sociology, and the sociology of culture, and have been studying social movements, collective memory, and ethnonational conflict in a transnational and global context. I completed a Ph.D. in sociology at the New School for Social Research in New York (2012), and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hebrew and Tel Aviv Universities. I continue to be an Associate Researcher at the Truman Institute of Hebrew University. My main research project focuses on the role of global experts and domestic civil society groups in reconciliation processes in cases of active conflict in comparison to post-conflict societies. Two other research projects focus, one on memory laws in Israel, Russia, France, Spain, and Poland; and the other – together with Prof. Tamar Katriel from Haifa University – on alternative memorial ceremonies in Israel of the last decade.
