NIBN and BioInformatics Support Units

The NIBN (The Natioanl Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev Ltd.) is home to the following units:  the Genomic Analyses unit; the Proteomics, Cytometry and Microscopy unit; the Bioinformatics Core unit; the Macromolecular Crystallography Research Center; and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy unit.

NIBN’s five infrastructure support units provide expertise and state of the art equipment to support and advance the research at the NIBN and BGU, and provide services to outside users from other universities, research institutes, and bio-pharma companies, and support basic as well as applied research.

​Examples of the services that these units provide are the identification of novel proteins and their interactions with macromolecules (proteins, RNA, and DNA), DNA microarray analysis, DNA sequencing, cell sorting, high-resolution microscopy, protein crystallization, robotic high throughput screening, and bioinformatics analysis.​​
