Positions in the group are currently available for:
1. A postdoctoral position. Details bellow.
2. PhD and MSc candidates: Our group is looking for motivated hard working students, who are interested in (1) studying the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson diseases and Alzheimer's disease and (2) Design novel materials in nanoscale for bionanotechnology.
A postdoctoral position in computational biophysics is available in the group of Dr. Yifat Miller at the Chemistry department, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel.
The successful applicant will apply molecular modeling tools and molecular dynamics simulations to study the interactions between amyloids and designing of small molecules for potential drugs to inhibit amyloid aggregation.
Dr. Miller’s lab is equipped with a high performance computational cluster to perform this project.
Candidates must be highly motivated scientists, with a Ph.D. in computational biophysics or computational chemistry. Candidates with an experience of carrying out molecular dynamics simulations are particularly encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates would have prior experience with Linux/Unix, computational data analysis, NAMD, CHARMM, GROMACS, AMBER and would have worked in at least one of the areas of (1) protein-protein interactions, (2) drug design (3) protein-membrane interactions and (4) computational docking.
The position is available for three years and it can be extended for another year depending on performance.
