The Israel Studies program was established in cooperation between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism at BGU. The program addresses the study, documentation, and research on Israel and Zionism from multidisciplinary perspectives. It deepens students’knowledge and understanding on multifaceted issues, dilemmas and critical decisions confronting the State of Israel emanating from early Zionism and the pre-State period till today. Students are afforded the benefit of having access to studying at first hand from an array of unique primary resource materials. Courses include among others: Israel Society and Economy; Ethnicity; Politics; Religion and State; Culture and Art; Diplomacy and Security Issues; Israel in the Middle East; Israel and the Jewish Diaspora; and, Israel-Zionist Dialectics.
