I am interested in various aspects of ecology and evolution of host-parasite relationships. Fleas parasitic on small mammals represent my main (and beloved) model of parasite-host associations. In my studies, I combine experimental work on physiological questions, field work on ecological questions, and comparative or meta-analyses on biogeographical or evolutionary questions.
Our laboratory is a unique establishment, because we successfully breed and maintain colonies of wild rodents belonging to 5 species and wild fleas belonging to 4 species. This variety presents us with exiting opportunities to model many natural situations, to ask many questions and to test many hypotheses.
