The Israeli Center for Qualitative Research of Man and Society has edited and published several methodological books on qualitative research.

The next book to be published is: `Talks on Qualitative Research`, edited by Dr. Mia Lavie-Ajayi and Prof. Dorin Tubin, published by Mofet Institute. The book will come out on 20-21.

Editors: Prof. Michal Krumer-Nevo, Dr. Mia Lavie-Ajayi and Dr. Dafna Hecker.

The book is the fruit of an interest group that took place between the years 2010-2012.

The group worked as a collaboration between the Israeli Center of Qualitative Research and the Program for Women and Gender Studies at Tel-Aviv University and with the support of Dafna Yizraeli Foundation.

Measurement, quantification, and grading are an integral part of economic and social life and central in the field of science, education, and artistic creation. Despite their centrality, their diverse implications have hardly been systematically critically examined. The frequent use of these tools for the purposes of judgment and evaluation is based on the assumption that these are neutral tools of a purely technical nature and absent from any ideological or value aspect. The file of articles in this book calls into question these assumptions. It examines the measurement. quantification and ranking in their broad context and from their view as cultural and social phenomena dependent on place and time. Special attention is given to the ways in which these tools are used to shape the face of society, manage and controlling populations and to allocate resources, or to prevent them..
