HEKSHERIM - The Research Institute for Jewish and Israeli Literature & Culture Was established in 2001 to promote and develop the connection between culture and community in the Jewish and Israeli society.
The Institute, headed by Prof. Yigal Schwartz, works in close cooperation with the Department of Hebrew Literature.
The activities of Heksherim embrace the cultural heritage of the peoples and the land of Israel and signpost the way for future generations.
The largest institute of its kind, Heksherim facilitates interdisciplinary activities, dialogue between literary researchers and writers and poets, and conducts research on a wide range of past and present geographical-cultural arenas..
