The tuition fees for both year one and year two of WSISIP total to 34,452 ILS, according to pricing for the 2016-17 academic year. The tuition is calculated according to the credit points taken each semester and a total of 36 credit points are needed to complete all the degree requirements.
Since students are scheduled to take most of their credit points during the first two semesters of their studies, the tuition payments are usually higher in the first year of study. Please note that for students who receive a standard scholarship, the university can pay their tuition directly.
Please be advised that in order to officially register as a student in WSISIP, it is required that you pay a registration fee and a onetime introductory payment of approximately 3,450 ILS via bank transfer. This must be complete prior to your arrival in Israel if you are a foreign student. The registration fee must be paid via bank transfer. For bank details, please speak with the Student Affairs Coordinator who will guide you through the process.
Students should note that the first scholarship payment will only be fulfilled two months into the semester i.e. in November and May respectively. During this period you will be required to pay a down payment of 1,000 ILS for your apartment, although your rent and utilities will be due three months after the start of the semester. In addition, you must budget according to your personal needs and cover all of your costs of living. We strongly encourage you to plan and budget ahead as only you know your personal spending habits. Also, since you will not have an Israeli bank account and sporadic access to money, we suggest having cash on hand and other emergency options. Bring enough to cover your expenses.
For the prerequisite course, there is a one-time fee of 530 USD that can be paid on arrival.
There is an added charge for the thesis defense (5% of tuition). You will receive a payment voucher for the defense at the end of your degree studies. Tuition fees are updated annually according to BGU guidelines.
Upon your arrival to Israel, you are required to have a health insurance policy and we recommend that you purchase a local policy that gives you access to the clinic network. The cost is 2.49 USD per day. For more information, please see the Health Insurance section. Please add this cost into your financial planning.
You must also cover the cost of your visa and multiple entry visa which cost 180 ILS each. Please see the Visa section for more information and plan accordingly.
There are also fees levied by the university including a security fee that must be paid in accordance with university rates. There is also the option to join the student union for a fee. This would give you access to the pool and discounted rates to student activities and events on the main campus in Beersheva. If you are interested, please contact the Student Affairs Coordinator.
