About

The "Biomed-Tech & Entrepreneurship" Project is the first of its kind in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The project combines lectures given by industry representatives, an annual conceptual "Hackathon" for the​​ Biotech community and entrepreneurship workshops taught by "Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation" at BGU. The project will allow the students to encounter the BiomedTech business world and accommodates the academic schedule to allow students to integrate the program with their courses and does not interfere with their studies.

Lectures will be given in Hebrew.

Makeathon 20​21-2022
​This year, we ran the second Makers Event of the BioMedTech community!
At this event, our three teams presented their final projects. 
The three excellent projects offer a solution to a medical problem and the transfer of technology to the world of home health care. 
The winning team is Infoline, which offered a medical solution to the problem of diabetics. 
Our judges at the event were Prof. Hadar Ben-Yoav, Dr. Galit Katribas Levy and Matan Aroosh.​​

​​BME + MSIH Makeathon 2019​​​​​​

This year, we are running a first of its kind makeathon!

The makeathon​​ purpose is to develop low-cost medical devices for 3rd world countries.

At this stag​​​​e, 4 teams of engineers and medical students presented prototypes which were evaluated by judges from the BME department, Bengis center for entrepreneurship and innovation and from the faculty of health sciences.

The teams will keep developing their devices until the Makeathon final meeting.

We would like to thank all the students that have been working on the devices on their own time, on a volunteer basis.​

Ha​c​​kathon 2018​​​​​​​​

​The First "​​BiomedTech & Entrepreneurship" annual hackathon took place at "WeWork" Beer Sheva. All the participants were divided into heterogeneous teams of graduate and undergraduate students, as well as medicine doctors. For several hours, the teams were focused on ideas to advance the accessibility of future medicine to the humanity. The winning idea was "The Sniffer"- a breast cancer analyzer.
