The Center harbors advanced equipment which includes:

Computing

  1. Powerful servers at the High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster of Ben-Gurion University

  2. IBM Elastic Storage Server, accessed by the HPC servers

  3. A file server for backup and long term storage

  4. Personal computer workstations

  5. A web server

  6. A computer workstation with dedicated bioinformatics software for the use of the Center's customers

All computers are equipped with cutting-edge commercial and public software for genetic and bioinformatic analyses of human samples.

  1. Affymetrix GeneChip(R) System for DNA array hyhridization and scanning

  2. ABI PRISM® 3100 Genetic Analyzer for Sanger sequencing

  3. Digital PCR

  4. Illumina MiSeq system for targeted Next Generation Sequencing

  5. Equipment for quality assessment and quantitation of DNA and RNA

  6. PCR machines

 

High Throughput Sequencing of exomes and genomes will be carried out in external laboratories and will be subsidized by the Center
