Inhibitory mechanisms are important components of cognitive control. My research is about the interaction between different components of inhibitory control and distractor interference. I aim to study whether the inhibition required in various tasks can be attributed to the same mechanisms or whether different tasks activate different control mechanisms. Further, I'm interesting in the inhibitory mechanism responsible for inhibiting irrelevant tasks (task conflict). Moreover, I am interested in unraveling the brain mechanisms underlying inhibitory control. Additionally, I would like to harness knowledge gained in these experiments to understand psychological disorders (e.g., ADHD, Alzheimer).
