Despite the ongoing complications with Covid-19,  BGU International welcomed dozens of new and returning international students and research fellows to the BGU campuses. Arriving from countries around the globe, students had varying requirements for entry to Israel, and each one was dealt with on an individual basis.

BGU International organized an exciting week of activities for new and returning students, for them to get to know one another, as well as become acquainted with Be'er-Sheva . Events included a tasting tour of Be'er-Sheva, a pool party at the Sports Center, a walk to the Negev Brigade Monument at sunset, and more. These activities aimed at helping new arrival students to get to know their surroundings and begin to meet other international students, as well as local students on campus.

The week of events culminated in a mandatory Orientation Session on the Thursday before the start of the semester. Students and research fellows gathered on the main campus to learn about the many opportunities available to them, with presentations from Dr. Stavi Baram, Director of BGU International, as well as the BGU Student Union and BGU Security. Students were officially welcomed to BGU by Dean of Students Prof. Orna Almog.

It was a truly remarkable start to the school year. BGU International works together with the BGU Student Union to provide activities and events for international students throughout the year, helping them form their own community as well as integrate into the broader BGU family.
