2009- Participation in the establishment of an Inter-University Program for African Studies, which includes Ben Gurion University, Tel-Aviv University and the Open University. The program was approved in July 2009 by and received funding from the Humanities Fund established by the Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Council for Higher Education and Yad Hanadiv. The program was opened in October 2010. In 2014 it received a grant of around 4 million shekels for its establishment as a permanent program of study
