The Department of Economics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), with more than 20 full-time senior faculty, offers instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels to around 800 students.  Faculty members are actively engaged in cutting-edge research in a wide array of topics in economics, centered on microeconomics, macroeconomics, and empirical and policy analysis. The MA in Economics, offered by the Department of Economics at BGU is a full-time course-based, one year (12 months) program in English. It is intended for students with an undergraduate degree in economics or related fields with a strong quantitative background, who wish to deepen their understanding of the economic forces that underlie the working of individuals, firms and governments in a global world and to enhance their research capacity. It prepares its graduates for high-level research and administrative positions in both the public and private sectors. It also forms an entry path to PhD programs in economics offered by top institutions around the world.
